function of arcdrop type fuse cutout.

What is the arc extinguishing cover:

The arc extinguishing hood is a more commonly used device that allows the arc to contact the solid medium, reduces the temperature of the arc, and thereby accelerates the arc extinguishment.

Arc-extinguishing drop-out fuse is an outdoor drop-out high-voltage fuse that can safely cut off a maximum load of 100amp and 10kV load. It consists of insulated porcelain pillars, upper and lower contact conductive devices and fuse tubes.

It is characterized in that in the upper conductive device, there is an arc extinguishing cover, an active contact, a main static contact, a secondary moving contact and a secondary static contact.

Under the condition of load and constant fuse, after the fuse tube is opened, the active contact and the main static contact are disconnected first, and the auxiliary moving contact and the auxiliary static contact are disconnected synchronously. In the arc shield, the arc generated due to the disconnection of the secondary contact is limited and disappears in the arc extinguishing shield.

Advantages of fuses with arc extinguishing cover

Drop-out fuses are widely used in 10kV power distribution systems as line protection for 10kV outgoing lines, 10kV branch lines, and large user incoming lines in 35kV substations. Most of the drop fuses currently in use have no arc-extinguishing function. Therefore, it is absolutely not allowed to open and close the fuse when there is a load on the line. A few drop-out fuses are now also equipped with arc-extinguishing shrouds with load-shedding capabilities. Drop-out fuses with arc-extinguishing hoods can extinguish arcs in the shortest possible time.
