According to the different arc extinguishing materials and cooling methods of the fuse cutout, there are two arc extinguishing methods.

The first arc extinguishing method is to put the melt into a sealed insulating tube. The insulating tube is made of a certain high-strength material. This material can decompose a large amount of gas under the high temperature of the arc, causing a high level of gas to be generated in the tube. Pressure to compress the arc and increase the potential gradient of the arc, so as to achieve the purpose of arc extinguishing.

The second arc extinguishing method is to install the melt in a fuse tube with insulating sand filler (such as quartz sand). When the melt is disconnected to generate an arc, the insulating sand can absorb the arc energy, and the metal vapor can be dissipated into the gap of the sand. In the process, the melt cools quickly, so as to achieve the purpose of arc extinguishing.
